There are many types of dredge pump materials, such as high chromium cast iron, high chromium white iron, wear resistant rubber and stainless steel. The concentrator with coarse and sharp particles in the dredgeing sand should be made of hard-Ni high-chromium cast iron material with good anti-wear performance. The wear-resistant rubber has better wear resistance and corrosion resistance than metal materials, and has relatively high elasticity and can be used to transport fine-grained slurry without edges and corners. When selecting a dredge pump, both of pump flow, transfer distance of pipeline and elevation of the pipe are required. For example
(1) 3500 cubic meters per hour dredge pump can be worked at 1500 meters pipe in elevation of 4 meters, however, it can only perform at 1200 meters pipe in elevation of 10 meters.
(2) 3500 cubic meters per hour dredge pump can transfer 1500 meters in 500 mm pipe, whereas, pump can transfer 2000 meters in 550 mm pipe.
3. The engine and dredge pump power must be matched properly.
The power mismatch between the motor and the dredge pump is reflected in the two aspects of “big engine VS small pump, small engine VS big pump”.big engine VS small pump , resulting in a huge waste of electric energy. Whereas, small engine VS big pump, which will result in insufficient power supply of dredge pump. The electric machine is overloaded or dredge slurry pump can not operate. Neither of these can ensure the safe and economical operation of the dredge pump, so improve dredge pump efficiency means the right match between pump and engine.
4. Dredge pump efficiency - dredge pump installation
When instal the dredge pump, we need to minimize the amount of elbows or cancel the "three valves." The pipeline is preferably straight and short. Do not set the outlet pipe to be an "anti-aircraft" type. It can be installed in a lower installation or inclined installation to reduce the loss. The diameter of the pipeline has a great influence on the loss head. It is better to adopt a pipe diameter that is slightly larger than the diameter of the dredge pump, which can improve the pumping efficiency.Pipe diameter is normally deisigned as larger than the pump discharge diameters to improve the working efficiency of the dredge pump.
