Pump classification including centrifugal slurry pump
Classification of pumps:
A pump is a machine that converts the mechanical energy of the prime mover into liquid energy. The prime mover (electric motor, diesel engine, etc.) drives the impeller to rotate through the pump shaft to perform work on the liquid to increase its energy (including potential energy, pressure energy and kinetic energy), so that the liquid can be transported to high places or places requiring pressure.
Pump classification and technical performance
According to the principle of action, pumps can be divided into power pumps, positive displacement pumps and other types of pumps.
Pump classification
1. Centrifugal pump
The basic performance parameters of the centrifugal pump are flow Q (m3/h, L/h), head H (m), allowable cavitation allowance △hr (m), speed n (revolution/min), shaft power N and efficiency η . This type of pump is simple in structure and light in weight, and can transport clean water with a temperature not exceeding 80°C and liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water.
2. Axial flow pump
Most of the axial flow pumps are single-stage, which can be divided into fixed vane type and adjustable vane type.
3. Vortex pump
Compared with the centrifugal pump, under the same impeller diameter and speed, the head of the vortex pump is 2 to 4 times higher than that of the centrifugal pump, but its efficiency is lower, generally only 20% to 50%. The vortex pump delivers clean liquid, low viscosity, and no solid particles.
4. Reciprocating pump
There are four types of reciprocating pumps: electric pump, direct-acting pump, diaphragm pump and metering pump.
5. Screw pump
The characteristics of the screw pump are small flow and pressure pulsation, low noise, long life, self-priming ability, simple and compact structure. There are single screw pumps, twin screw pumps and three screw pumps.
6. Gear pump
The gear pump is simple in structure, easy to manufacture, reliable in operation, convenient in maintenance, and self-priming, but the flow and pressure pulsation and noise are relatively large.
The gear pump is suitable for conveying a variety of liquids without solid particles. The viscosity range of the conveying liquid is very wide, and it can convey high-pressure liquids.
7. Liquid ring pump
The liquid ring pump is a fluid machine that transports gas. The working fluid of the liquid ring pump often includes water, sulfuric acid, oil, etc.
Liquid ring vacuum pumps are often used for vacuum evaporation, drying, water pumping, etc. Liquid ring compressors are mainly used to compress gas, ethylene, chlorine, oxygen, etc.
8. Vacuum pump
There are many types of vacuum pumps, including reciprocating vacuum pumps, rotary vacuum pumps, roots vacuum pumps and jet vacuum pumps.
