Is the
slurry pump a centrifugal pump? Slurry pumps belong to the category of centrifugal pumps. Slurry pump refers to a machine that increases the energy of solid and liquid mixed media by means of centrifugal force (the rotation of the pump impeller).
Centrifugal pumps work by using the rotation of the impeller to make water produce centrifugal movement. Before the water pump is started, the pump casing and suction pipe must be filled with water, and then the motor is started, so that the pump shaft drives the impeller and water to make high-speed rotation. The water undergoes centrifugal movement and is thrown to the outer edge of the impeller and flows through the volute pump casing. The channel flows into the pressurized water pipeline of the water pump.
The basic structure of a centrifugal pump is composed of eight parts: impeller, pump body, pump cover, water retaining ring, pump shaft, bearing, sealing ring, stuffing box, and axial force balance device.
1. The impeller is the core part of the centrifugal pump, it has high speed and high output force.
2. The pump body is also called the pump housing, which is the main body of the pump. Play a supporting and fixing role, and connect with the bracket for mounting the bearing.
3. The role of the pump shaft is to connect with the motor by means of a coupling, and transmit the torque of the motor to the impeller, so it is the main component for transferring mechanical energy
4. The sealing ring is also called the leakage reducing ring.
5. The stuffing box is mainly made of packing, which prevents the water flow in the pump from flowing outside and the outside air from entering the pump. Always maintain the vacuum in the pump! When the pump shaft and the packing friction generate heat, the water seal pipe needs to inject water into the water seal ring to cool the packing!
6. Axial force balance device. During the operation of the centrifugal pump, because the liquid enters the impeller under low pressure and flows out under high pressure, the pressure on both sides of the impeller is unequal, and the axial thrust directed to the inlet direction is generated. It will cause the rotor to move in the axial direction, and the ceramic pump will cause wear and vibration. Therefore, an axial thrust bearing should be installed to balance the axial force.
In summary, it can be seen that the slurry pump mainly uses the rotation of the impeller to perform work to transport the slurry to the designated location.
The rotation of the slurry pump impeller generates centrifugal force, which causes the slurry to be thrown away from the center of the impeller, thereby converting it into potential energy.
